The Boudoir was Mrs. Mills’ personal sitting room. In this room, she would meet with the butler, housekeeper, and other important servants to decide what would be served for meals and which bedrooms would be assigned to each of her guests. Here she would also plan parties and travel as well as write personal correspondence. The character of this room came from the gilding of the walls and furniture. The restoration project included 7 pieces of upholstered and gilded furniture, paintings, and frames.
