The Society recognizes and honors individuals who demonstrate a deep commitment to the future of the Friends of Mills at Staatsburgh by including the Friends in their estate plans.

Through your vision and generosity, you can create a lasting impact in establishing a firm foundation to sustain the Friends in their mission to preserve, restore, and interpret Staatsburgh State Historic Site for future generations.

There are many creative and flexible planned giving options that can benefit you and the Friends.

• Making a cash or securities gift to the Friends in your will
• Naming the Friends as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy
• Providing the Friends a residuary bequest from your estate

Meet Founding Member:

Janet C. Mills (no relation to Ruth)

Janet lived in Staatsburg, NY for many years. She enjoyed a long career teaching literature and creative writing at Dutchess Community and Marist Colleges. Volunteering was a part of Janet’s life of service. She was a great supporter of her local community, including being a board member of the Friends of Mills Mansion.
